Churches in Abergavenny have sent off a record number of Christmas presents to Moldova, as well as giving to those in need more locally, reports Hannah Jones.

Over 90 shoes boxes were sent earlier to Moldova to arrive in time for Christmas, and now the Church congregations are packing up gifts for teenagers who have recently left care and are living in Monmouthshire.

Canon Mark Soady, said, “Christmas is a time we share presents because it is a time for us to remember God’s gift to to us in the Christ Child. We feel called to give gifts to those in need at home and abroad, as well as giving to family and friends.”
