FOR ONE week from Saturday, July 26, the Abergavenny Art Group is holding its 71st annual exhibition at Holy Trinity Church Hall, Baker Street.
The exhibition will be officially opened by Chronicle editor, Liz Davies, at the private view on Friday, July 25.
Featuring work in the memory of Mr Arthur Weaver who was a very respected member of the group, the exhibition will be open from 10am to 6pm from Monday to Friday and 10am to 5.30pm on Saturday.
The Abergavenny Art Group was founded in 1937 set up by Mrs Agnes Beverley Burton and friends with the aim of providing an opportunity for young people to continue art activities after leaving school.
Since the sixties the group has moved around the town but now meets at the Community Hall in Llantilio Pertholey.
The group's progamme for the coming year included demonstrations, tutored practical sessions and workshops. If you interested in joining the group contact Anne Jury on (01873) 852806 or Jean Prandy on (01873) 821758.
