LLANARTH have secured their place in the second round of the Langdon Cup after beating Gilwern 3-2 away.
Llanarth took the initial lead with a goal from Luke Williams, before Gilwern's Adam Carrington netted to make it 1-1 going into the interval.
In the second-half Gilwern's Shane Higginson and Llanarth's Luke Jones scored a goal apiece to tie the game, but with just three minutes remaining, Michael Morgan scored the Llanarth winner with a seven yard shot.
Pandy were knocked out of the cup, after Trevethin cruised to a 9-0 win.
Meanwhile, on the 'Island", Goytre won their cup-tie against Usk Town 8-7 in a game decided by penalties.
After full-time the two teams were deadlocked on 2-2, and in extra time no quarter was given or asked by either side as the two teams both scored twice to make it 4-4, and ensure that penalties were to be the order of the day.
In the subsequent shoot-out Goytre picked up the honours thanks to strikes by Gareth Edmonds, Ryan Howells, Kevin Wallace, and Paul Williams. Usk's penalties came from Carl McEwan, Martyn Latham and Will Barton.
The goals in normal and extra time came from Christian Phillips (2), Phil Samson, and Will Barton for Usk, and Jonathan Jones (2), Karl Crook, and Gareth Edmonds all scored for Goytre.
In round one of the Benevolent Cup Mardy were knocked out 6-3 at home to Pilcs, despite leading 3-2 at half-time.
Mardy's goals came from Jayde Kelly, Joe Morgan, plus a Pilcs own goal.
The Abergavenny Thursdays were outdone 3-0 on their home ground in Saturday's cup-tie against Govilon. The goals came from Paul Williams, Andrew Spiers and Ben Burgoyne.
Clydach Wasps cruised to a 12-1 home win over a visiting Race side, but it was Race who opened the scoring with a goal in the fifth minute.
After that the Wasps went on a frenzy of retaliation, with goals coming thick and fast from Craig Evans (4), Mark Prosser (2), James Powell (2), Simon Tippings, Scott Amber and Mark Congrieve.
In Division Two, Llanarth 'B' drew 3-3 with Clydach 'B'. Llanarth netted through Mike Bond (2), and Justin Chambers, whilst Clydach's strikes came from David Gulliford, Jordan Powell, and Mark Harvey.
Prescoed stay top after winning five out of five matches. On Saturday they beat Usk Town 'B' 7-2, with Andrew Saunders (3), Neil Daunter (2), Michael Taylor and John Cooper all adding their names to the score-sheet.
Usk's consolation goals came from Steve Wade and Michael Dudson.
