A busy through road in Abergavenny was blocked for a period earlier today due to what police describe as a ‘medical emergency’.

Park Crescent, which runs between Hereford Road and Pen-y-Pound, was reportedly blocked during the late morning today when emergency services raced to an incident on the road.

Eyewitnesses told The Chronicle that several police cars and other emergency vehicles descended on the scene before entering a house on the road.

In a statement, Gwent Police confirmed they had been called to assist paramedics with an incident at an address.

“Officers are in the area assisting the Welsh Ambulance Service responding to a medical emergency,” a spokesperson said.
