The reason for a heavy police presence near Crickhowell on Friday afternoon has been confirmed, as police have revealed the sad discovery of a body at the scene.

A police presence had been in place since earlier that morning morning between Glangrwyney Bridge and Maes-y-Berllan farm and members of the public were told to avoid the area. Later on, officers confirmed the tragic discovery of a man’s body, and work is underway to establish the circumstances of the incident.

“Dyfed-Powys Police are in attendance in Glangrwyney Road, Crickhowell following the discovery of a body of a man at approximately 10.45am today,” a spokesperson said.

“Officers are working to establish the circumstances of the incident, as well as the identification of the man.”
