The reason for a heavy police presence near Crickhowell this afternoon has been confirmed, as police have revealed the sad discovery of a body at the scene.
A police presence has been in place since this morning between Glangrwyney Bridge and Maes-y-Berllan farm and members of the public have been told to avoid the area. This afternoon, officers confirmed the tragic discovery of a man’s body, and work has begun to establish the circumstances of the incident.
“Dyfed-Powys Police are in attendance in Glangrwyney Road, Crickhowell following the discovery of a body of a man at approximately 10.45am today,” a spokesperson said.
“Officers are working to establish the circumstances of the incident, as well as the identification of the man.”
“There will be police presence in the area while conducting enquiries, and a road closure is in place between Glangrwyney Bridge and Maes-Y-Berllan farm. We would ask members of the public to please avoid the area while this is in place.”
