A SPATE of house burglaries in Monmouthshire resulted in a selection of distinctive items being stolen.
Sometime between 10am on September 18 and 3pm on September 19 a property on Newtown Road, Goytre was broken into.
Several items of jewellery were stolen including an 18 carat gold flower shaped broach, a diamond cluster gold engagement ring, a gold cameo signet ring and a gold charm bracelet with lock and pig charms.
On Thursday, September 29 a further three properties were broken into.
An address on The Cedars in Llanfoist was targeted between 7pm and 10pm.
Entry was gained via an insecure door. Items stolen include a gold signet ring with a black enamel face.
Forced entry was made into an address on Abergavenny Road some time between 8am and 10pm where a gentleman's gold ultra slim Genevieve watch was stolen.
An address on Albany Road was broken into some time between the hours of 6.30am and 5.15pm and items stolen included an Apple iPad, silver cutlery engraved with New York, a silver coloured metal award disc with an gold image of St. Christopher on it dated 2009 and a black TUMI bag with red writing.
Additionally, forced entry was made into a property in the Tredunnock area of Usk sometime between September 11 and 22.
Items stolen include a blue leather Jimmy Choo handbag, a black Frank Muller Casablanca Chronography watch, two Mulberry purses (one black, one brown), Moschino tortoise shell sunglasses and a TOD grey leather handbag.
All these incidents are under investigation and officers are not ruling out the possibility that they may be linked.
