Flood alerts are in force for the River Usk in Monmouthshire and Powys.
The alerts were raised by Natural Resources Wales shortly before 7am on Wednesday (December 23) and the situation was due to be reassessed at noon, or earlier if the situation changed.
The level at Usk town peaked at 3.1 metres in the early hours, but had dropped to 2.7 metres by 6.30am and was still falling.
In Crickhowell the level peaked at 2.4 metres at 9pm yesterday (Tuesday) but had fallen to 1.5 metres by 6.30am.
