DAREDEVIL Chronicle chief reporter Hannah Mlatem will be taking a break from the comfort of her desk job and throw caution to the wind to jump 12,000ft from an aircraft and free fall at 120mph to raise money for Tenovus.

"I've always wanted to do a skydive and last year a friend of mine did it while raising money for Tenovus. As soon as she organised one for this year I jumped at the chance to do it and raise money for a great charity," she said.

The skydive takes place on July 18 at Swansea airfield. Miss Mlatem plans to take a troop of friends and family for support.

"As well as my mum Carol and sister Kamilla I plan to make sure all the girls are there and my boyfriend Daniel - at least I have something to land on."

Proud partner Daniel said, "As a rugby player |am used to a bit of rough and tumble but I don't think I would be brave enough to do what Hannah's planning!

She will be jumping with friends and hopes to raise as much money as possible for the cancer charity.

Here's how your sponsors will help:

• £2 will enable 5 cancer patients to speak to someone on a free cancer support helpline

• £5 will enable a Tenovus counsellor to call a cancer patient to talk about how they are feeling

• £10 will enable 20 patients to gain information that will help them cope better with their diagnosis; understand their treatment and help their family and friends support them.

• £25 means that a cancer patient can spend time with a Tenovus counsellor on a mobile support unit.

• £100 give a cancer patient access to a chemotherapy unit rather than enduring costly and a sometimes stressful journey to hospital.

• £150 will enable Tenovus to offer a grant to purchase a specialist swimming costume for women who have had a double mastectomy giving them the confidence to continue to enjoy swimming.
