A touch of the Wild West is coming to Llangynidr soon, when new "cowboy" style hitching posts are to be fitted in the village shop’s car park.
The posts are being set up to accommodate local horsemen and women who will be able to tie up their horses securely while shopping or enjoying a coffee at the popular Walnut Tree Stores and Café.
"Passing riders are delighted that they can take a break while their mounts are safely tethered", says Howard Marlow, owner of the café that has recently been nominated for a Countryside Alliance Rural Oscars award.
"And, when our Wild West hitching posts are in place, I’m told that one or two of them have already nicknamed our new-look car park the OK Corral."
