A man has been arrested after an alleged attempted break-in at a historic Abergavenny church.
Gwent Police received a report of a man attempting to enter St Mary’s Priory Church, Monk Street, at around 7:15pm on Thursday, July 30.
Officers attended the scene and located a man who matched the description provided in the report.
A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and possession of a Class B controlled drug.
He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue, police said.
