Police Appeal After Abergavenny Woman Mugged in Street

A mugger snatched an Abergavenny woman’s handbag as she made her way to work early on Monday morning.

Police have said the 58-year-old woman was walking along Belmont Road before a man ripped her bag out of her hands and ran off.

A police spokeswoman said, “We are appealing for information after a  58-year-old woman had her bag snatched at approximately 5.20am on Monday 7th August on Belmont Road in Abergavenny.

 

“The suspect is described as being of slim build, approximately  5‘11” and was wearing a red jacket and dark trousers. 

 

“He snatched the bag, which was a fabric shopping bag and contained keys and bank cards, before running towards Fosterville Crescent.”
