Grieving family pay tribute to Crickhowell woman killed in fatal collision in Brynmawr

Tributes have poured in for a young Crickhowell woman who was killed following a car crash in Brynmawr.

The grieving family of Sophie Brimble issued a statement following her death on Wednesday.

Following the collision on King Street, Gwent Police issued an appeal for any witnesses to come forward, adding that a black Volkswagen Polo was involved in the fatal crash.

The 20-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, whilst a 24-year-old man from the Brynmawr area was taken to Heath Hospital, Cardiff, after sustaining serious injuries.

It is believed the 24-year-old man is in a critical condition.

A police spokeswoman said the family of the deceased is being supported by specialist officers.

Police have asked anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have any information relating to it is asked to call 101, quoting log: 13 26/07/2017.
