Powys County Council has a new leader and chairman

COUNCILLOR Rosemarie Harris, who represents the Llangynidr ward, was elected as Executive Leader at the annual general of Powys County Council held on Thursday.

At the meeting, Councillor Harris announced that the cabinet will be a coalition between The Independent Group and the Welsh Conservative Group.

Councillor Dai Davies, who represents the Berriew ward, has been appointed Chairman of the council with Councillor David Meredith, who represents the St David Within ward in Brecon, elected as vice-chairman and Councillor Beverley Baynham, who represents the Presteigne ward, as assistant vice-chairman
