Farmers warned to be extra vigilant in wake of sheep thefts in Usk area

GWENT Police are urging farmers to be vigilant following the second reported theft of stock from farms in the Usk area in the past week.

The latest incident saw 28 pregnant ewes going missing from Cayo Farm, near Usk. The ewes had been scanned in February and were noticed missing last week. Ear tag numbers are UK723008 or UK741710.

The theft comes just days after 68 sheep were reported stolen from the Llangovan area near Usk.
